The mandate of Pashu Vigyan Kendra is to impart service of trainings to farmers on new technologies of animal husbandry and veterinary science to sustain and improve production of animal for better livelihood of farmers. Pashu Vigyan Kendras at district level is venturing to penetrate up to each livestock owner of the state for enhancing animal productivity and profitability from livestock sector. This project has been appreciated as well as accepted by the Government of Rajasthan and the activity has been included in the plan of State. Establishment of center at district level enables the dissemination of latest fruitful technologies at the faster rate to the end users. Livestock owners will have a direct communication with scientist and extension workers not only to solve their immediate problems but also to receive training and technologies. The farmers and field staff will receive services of subject matter specialists for the adoption of technologies in addition to facilities of diagnosis and treatment of diseases and testing of feed quality as well as animal product. All these centers will improve the status of animal husbandry in all dimensions for improvement in the status of animal production, productivity and health of animal for better livelihood of farmers. So far fourteen centers have become operational up to 2021-22 in different districts of Rajasthan viz., Nagaur, Bharatpur, Sri- Ganganagar, Chittorgarh, Kota, Churu, Dungarpur, Tonk, Sirohi, Dholpur, Loonkaransar, Jodhpur, Jhunjhunu and Jobner and two centers are under construction at Jalore and Jhalawar.

Objectives
- To impart trainings, enhance awareness and to conduct demonstrations regarding breeding, feeding, management and health care of various species of animals to enhance animal productivity.
- To disseminate technology at grass root level for improvement in animal productivity as well as socio-economic status of rural masses.
- Identification of local problems and to impart knowledge as well as prepare technology modules to mitigate the problems.
- To provide livestock and farm advisory services through various extension activity including literature for quick dissemination of technology.
- To assess and refine the latest technologies developed under control condition in field for their wider adaptation and collecting feedback information from field and generate production data for livestock farming.
- To have provision of services for animal disease diagnosis and treatments testing of feed & fodder as well as animal products.
